Fermynwoods Contemporary Art

Fineshade Woods, Rockingham Forest, Northamptonshire

The exhibition and artist residency took place over 2 weeks in May 2011. Approximately 350 visitors came to the exhibition and two schools workshops took place.  There was a live link up between an old Ash tree on the edge of the forest and a mango tree on the edge of the Mata Atlantia, Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Some comments from the visitors:

“You feel like you could tell if the tree is happy”

“This is something a bit like the Tate Modern, it’s good to have art in a forest”

“it looks like it took the essence of what it was looking at”

“It is almost like having a natural hologram on your wall”
